As an educational studies major in college, I was both exposed to critical learning theory and had hands-on experience in classrooms. I worked as a teacher's assistant in a nursery school, an 8th grade social studies class in a school for students with special needs, and a 10th grade class at a Philadelphia public school. In these various environments, I was responsible for helping the teacher with classroom management and instructing small groups of students in skills such as language arts and close reading. In the Philadelphia high school, I was a tutor for the federal grant program GEAR UP, designed to increase the number of low income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in post-secondary education. My experience as a teacher extends beyond academia as well! I have been a collegiate, youth, and summer camp soccer coach. I also have worked as personal soccer trainer in which I conduct individual and small group training sessions. I received a 31 on the ACT.

I am soccer obsessed! I am currently playing semi-professional soccer in Sweden, right outside of Stockholm and work as a freelance journalist for a soccer entertainment website. I also absolutely love history so, in my free time, I am often always looking for ways to learn about stories and people from the place of which I am in. Going to museums and historical sites are a favorite pastime of mine.
